The proposed Qualified State Interest Amendment- Road Hierarchy Update is open for consultation.
Mackay Regional Council has commenced public consultation of the proposed Qualified State Interest Amendment 1 of 2018 to the Mackay Region Planning Scheme 2017 under the Minister’s Guidelines and Rules and the Planning Act 2016 (the Act).
Consultation period on the proposed Road Hierarchy Update has been extended from 8th October 2018 until and including the 10th December 2018 and Council invites public feedback through Properly Made Submissions.

Mackay Regional Council has commenced public consultation of the proposed Qualified State Interest Amendment 1 of 2018 to the Mackay Region Planning Scheme 2017 under the Minister’s Guidelines and Rules and the Planning Act 2016 (the Act).
Consultation period on the proposed Road Hierarchy Update has been extended from 8th October 2018 until and including the 10th December 2018 and Council invites public feedback through Properly Made Submissions.
The overall intent of the proposed amendment is to introduce improved road hierarchy mapping which
includes:
• Changes to road hierarchy categories to achieve consistency across the region.
• Consequential mapping changes to reflect the new set of road categories.
• Mapping changes to reflect roads that have been created since the road hierarchy was last
updated.
• Mapping changes to reflect amendments and updates to future road alignments.
• Mapping changes to correct minor errors and achieve consistency.
