We all love the coast.

The Slade Point coastal unit supports rare and threatened species including migratory shorebirds, marine turtles and critically endangered beach scrub vegetation endangered Melaleuca viridiflora woodland and extensive mangrove and salt flat communities. It is also a popular recreational area for locals and visitors to our region. Mackay Regional Council invites you to join us to ensure that Slade Point is protected and maintained into the future.

A Draft Local Coastal Plan (LCP) has been developed to identify the natural values and issues at Slade Point and contains recommended management activities.

Council is excited to show you the draft plans and seek your feedback on the draft LCP’s key recommendations.
