Anne Street children's crossing Walkerston

Council has received funding from the Queensland Government to upgrade the children’s crossing on Anne Street in Walkerston to improve road safety at St John’s Catholic Primary School.
The works will include:
• New 3-metre-wide children’s crossing on Anne Street with a ramp, hard stand, signage and crossing poles.
• New kerb and channel on both sides of Anne Street.
• New 1.8-metre-wide pedestrian ramp crossing on the corner of Anne and Creek streets.
• New 2-metre-wide concrete footpath from the corner of Peak Downs Highway to the Creek Street bus stop.
Contractor Vassallo Constructions will be completing the works on behalf of council.
Please note during the works:
• Parking will only be available in Anne Street, in the parking bays closest to the school and the church car park.
• Pedestrian access into the Anne Street school entry will be via the Creek and Dutton streets intersections.
• The road shoulders on Anne and Creek streets will be closed during the week and re-opened on the weekends.
• Reduced speed limits will be in place during work hours. Please adhere to all roadside signage and instructions.
There will also be some minor noise and dust disturbances associated with these works, however appropriate measures will be put in place to minimise these disturbances.
The works are expected to be completed by mid-February, weather permitting.
