Asphalt resurfacing works 2025-2026

Contractor Downer, on behalf of council, will be completing asphalt resurfacing works in the Mackay region until early-April, weather permitting.

The works are needed to rejuvenate road surfaces and improve road conditions.

The following roads and roundabouts will be closed temporarily to complete the works:

• Nelson Street in Mackay (Tuesday, March 31 from 6pm to 6.30am)

• Victoria and Wellington streets roundabout in Mackay (Tuesday, April 7 and Wednesday, April 8 from 6pm to 6.30am)

• Victoria and Tennyson streets roundabout in Mackay (Completed)

• Shakespeare Street from Hague Street to Creal Street in East Mackay (Saturday, March 21 from 7am to 2.30pm).

• Nicklin and Celeber Drive in Beaconsfield (Thursday, April 9 and Friday, April 10 from 6pm to 6.30am).

Traffic control will be in place during the works, please adhere to all roadside signage and detour instructions.

There will also be some minor noise, dust and driveway interruptions during this time. If you have any problem entering or exiting a property, please contact the traffic controllers on-site.
