Consultation has concluded

This project is now complete.

Contractor Bellwether has been awarded the tender to improve 10 bus stops within the Mackay region.

Please see the below maps for all the bus stop locations.

The works are scheduled to commence early April 2021 and expected to be completed by the end of May 2021, weather permitting.

The bus stops will remain operational during the works but may be temporarily relocated nearby to ensure public safety during these works.

Signage will be installed notifying commuters in advance of any bus stop works, including relocation information.

We will be required to remove some trees for the installation of a the footpath that will allow better connectivity to the bus stop at Bedford Road, near Paperbark Way. Care has been taken to keep as many of the existing trees as possible.

There will be some noise and dust disturbances with these works, however appropriate controls will be put in place to reduce the impact.

Council thanks you for your patience while we undertake these upgrades and apologise for any inconveniences.

These works are part of a larger program of works in order to meet disability standards for public transport. It is jointly funded with the Department of Main Roads and Mackay Regional Council.
