Council is proposing to upgrade Mulherin Park in Paget on the corner of Boundary Road East and Connors Road. A particular focus will be providing a green space with recreation opportunities for people working in the industrial precinct. The staged project aims to provide local workers and visitors with a respite area and enhance the environmental quality and visual amenity at Paget

I definitely think there should be seating area and maybe the workout area for the workers at Paget to escape from the work place for some R & R. Of course there should be some nice shady trees.
I would like to see park benches / seats under shady trees, work out equipment, walking track, car parks and a permanent vendor parking spot for an daily alternating coffee van vendor.
Gardens with a watercourse, filled with natives to encourage flora and fauna. A meandering walking path and pockets of areas for dining. A place that is in stark contrast to the buildings and professions in the area. A place for escape.
I work nearby and if there was an exercise circuit there that was surrounded by random shrubs to make it private but not unsafe then I'd ride to work more often and exercise there on the way.Also somewhere shady to park so you can eat lunch on the go, with a table and bench seat.
Openness & accessibility is key in this location. A carpark will be required.I would like to see open parkland which would be visually appealing from the road. Under the large trees some outdoor gym equipment would be suitable. Also a concreted area to allow for Personal Training sessions from a PT provider. Links to existing footpaths in the area should be included.
Due to its location, emphasis should be on landscaping rather than usability. As a parent I wouldn't necessarily go there to take the kids to play. Ooralea and City gates would come to mind first. However due to its location where visitors from the airport would go past or do business at Paget, a visual statement should be made that we care. Landscaping should be done to improve the visual impact of this current vacant lot, utilising the existing mature trees.
