We have updated our priorities for Environmental Sustainability and want to hear from you about our strategy to guide action over the next five years.

The Draft Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2017-2022 is an important strategic document that will guide operational activity to deliver on council’s commitment to protecting our environment.

The Draft Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2017-2022 has been informed by existing long term strategies and with input from council staff, Councillors and key stakeholders.

The draft strategy focusses on nine strategic outcomes for environmental sustainability and includes a refreshed action plan to protect our environment and enhance liveability in our region.

We are now seeking feedback on the draft from the broader community before council endorses the strategy during August 2017!

    What’s new?

    This strategy builds on previous long-term strategies and provides a refreshed and contemporary roadmap for embedding leading practice environmental sustainability principles into council operations and partnerships.

    The strategy will guide action toward nine strategic outcomes for environmental sustainability and proposes new governance arrangements within council for implementation over the next five years
