Hospital Bridge Fishing Pier

Work is underway at the Hospital Bridge Fishing Pier!

Specialist civil construction company Casa Engineering are on-site and work is underway on the highly anticipated Hospital Bridge Fishing Pier. Casa was awarded the $1.7 million dollar contract in July 2019 which also includes landscaping near the pier access.

A 15x11-metre L-shape design will be installed to replace the fishing pier that was damaged in Cyclone Debbie in 2017. The new design will better withstand impact from debris and increase the structural integrity of the pier for future flood events.

Once complete, the pier will be wheelchair accessible and will include seating and rod holders for keen fishers.

The pier is expected to be completed in December of 2019, weather permitting.
