This web page has been created to keep Slade Point residents updated on the beach nourishment work for Lamberts Beach.
The works will start late January, with completion expected for early June, weather permitting.
Local contractor, Vassallo Constructions, has been awarded the job.
Council did some preliminary restoration works in November 2017, which involved pushing sand from the tidal zone up against the eroded front dune, but it is now time for the entire length of Lamberts Beach (approximately 590 m) to undergo sand nourishment works and associated fencing and revegetation works.
The total cost of the repair work is nearly $2.7 million, with $1.73 million proudly provided by the Queensland Government and the remaining $950,000 jointly funded by the Commonwealth-State Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA).
