The Draft Mackay Region Economic Strategy 2020-2025 is now open for comment! Please review the draft strategy here and feel free to make comments/suggestions below in the "survey and forms" section.

Project Background

The Mackay Region is home to a diverse and vibrant community. It's a region full of opportunities with the potential to continue to grow and evolve.

Mackay Regional Council recognises that to ensure the regional economy thrives, a well planned and thought out strategic direction is needed to ensure sustainable growth into the future.

With the upcoming expiration of the region’s 2015-20 Economic Development Strategy, it is now time to prepare the 2020-2025 economic vision for the region.

Council is currently working with a large range of key stakeholders from regional industry associations, local business communities, government agencies, and social and regional development organisations to develop the economic blueprint for the region for the next five years.

As part of our rigorous engagement we will be looking to the community for input on the draft strategy. We need to ensure all avenues have been addressed. If you have expertise you would like to contribute and can add-value to our region’s strategic direction, we'd like your input. If you have any ideas or a proposal on what needs to be included in the 2020-2025 strategy then we'd love to hear from you!

If you have any questions, or would like to discuss the Strategy, please contact Nadine Connolly, Economic Development Mackay Regional Council, on (07) 49619907 or email nadine.connolly@mackay.qld.gov.au
