The construction of a new shared pathway and road rehabilitation works will be occurring in Mackenzie Street, West Mackay.

Stage 1 - Pathway works (September 21 to October 8, 2019)

The first stage of works will be a shared path outside of St Francis Xavier Catholic School on Mackenzie Street. To minimise disruption, the work is planned for September school holidays, from September 21 to October 8, 2019, weather permitting. Works will occur from 6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with some Saturday work. Please see overleaf for pathway location.

Stage 2 - Road works (anticipated mid-October, 2019)

The second stage of works involves road rehabilitation and resurfacing on Mackenzie Street from Lagoon Street past Donaldson Street intersection (60 metres north). This work is planned to commence mid-October and expected to take approximately two weeks, weather permitting. Please see overleaf for roadwork location.

During stage 2, residents are advised of possible noise, dust and traffic disruptions (short-term road detours, reduced parking and speed limits). Appropriate controls will be in place to minimise impact however, we ask that you obey all signage and directions given by traffic controllers to ensure the safety of all road users and pedestrians during construction. This project is currently under tender and will be awarded to a contractor shortly. Prior to any road work commencing, the contractor will contact residents directly to provide a more detailed construction timeline and advise of any further information.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while these works are completed.
