McIntyre Street footpath

Project update: Civil works have now been completed. Guardrail fencing will be installed for pedestrian safety by June 2026, weather permitting.

Council's Field Services crew is completing the concrete footpath along McIntyre Street in East Mackay.

The 1.5-metre-wide footpath will extend from the Good Shepherd Lodge to the corner of McIntyre and Christie streets to improve pedestrian connectivity in the area.

The works will also include new kerb and channel, the reconstruction of driveways along the new footpath, the removal and installation of trees and a walkway around the paperbark tree on Christie Street.

As a result of these works, traffic management will be in place, please adhere to all roadside signage and instructions, and there will also be some minor noise and dust disturbances.

The works are expected to be completed by April, weather permitting.
