High-tech sports locker installed

A high-tech sports locker has been installed at the Northern Beaches Community Hub, to give access to popular sports equipment.

The SportsBox lockers allow the free borrowing of a basketball, futsal ball or netball, which can be used on the indoor sports court.

Users simply need to download the SportsBox app and create an account. There are no sign-up fees or ongoing cost to borrowers.

Since being installed late last week, there’s already been several hours of usage by the community.

Equipment in the smart lockers is free to use, but a credit or debit card must be added to accounts for instances where balls aren’t returned.
