Café operator sought for unique opportunity in community hub

Marketing has been launched nationwide for an exciting cafe opportunity at the new Northern Beaches Community Hub.

Mackay firm Knight Frank has been appointed marketing agent and will be canvassing this unique opportunity with local and national operators.

Mayor Greg Williamson said the $21 million stage 1B of the Northern Beaches Community Hub, currently under construction, included space for a café operator.

He said council believed the café would be a wonderful part of this exciting community facility.

“This really is a blank canvas for a café operator,’’ Mayor Williamson said.

“An operator can come in and set-up their café and kitchen to suit their needs.”

The café space offers about 103 square metres of indoor dining and 64 square metres for a kitchen.

Mayor Williamson said the café operator was guaranteed excellent foot traffic in the region’s fastest growing Northern Beaches suburbs.

“The multi-purpose court and nature play area in stage 1A are well used and patronage will grow exponentially when the library and meeting rooms at the completion of stage 1B early next year.

“There are also future developments planned as part of a master plan for the Northern Beaches Community Hub, meaning the café is an excellent long-term investment.”

Jessica Coleman, of Knight Frank, said the firm was excited to be marketing this café opportunity.

She said the Northern Beaches population was projected to grow to more than 32,000 residents by 2041, which would be a 263 per cent growth since 2001.

“We think the café opportunity will appeal to both local operators, wanting to relocate or expand their business, or a national franchise.”

“The fact any potential operator can fit-out their kitchen and café space to suit their requirements is an added benefit.”

The Australian Government has contributed $6.5 million towards Stage 1A and $15 million through the Growing Regions Program Round 1 for Stage 1B of the Northern Beaches Community Hub.

The Growing Regions Program supports community‑focused infrastructure that revitalises regional areas and improves local amenity and liveability.

Stages 1A and 1B of the Northern Beaches Community Hub are jointly funded by the Australian Government and Mackay Regional Council.
