Council invites tenderers to establish a café at Northern Beaches Community Hub

Council is inviting tenderers to make submissions to lease an area within the Northern Beaches Community Hub to establish a café/eatery.

Located at 10 Badyari Yalu Road, Rural View, the café space offers about 103m² of indoor dining and a 64m² area for a kitchen, to be designed and fitted out by the successful tenderer, with additional deck space negotiable.

The successful tenderer will be responsible for the fit-out and ongoing operations, creating a welcoming destination for locals and visitors alike.

Mayor Greg Williamson said the Northern Beaches Community Hub was designed to foster active living and social connection.

“This café will need to compliment the nearby facilities including a modern library, flexible community rooms, multi-purpose court and playground,” Mayor Williamson said.

“Council is seeking a tenant who can activate the space with high-quality food and beverage offerings that will support the Community Hub’s goals of creating a welcoming, community centred environment,” he said.

Submissions will be assessed on experience, business concept, financial capacity, fit-out proposal, operational plan and value for money.

The Australian Government committed $6.5 million of an estimated $9 million cost to establish Stage 1A and has committed $15 million under the Growing Regions Program Round 1 for Stage 1B of the Northern Beaches Community Hub.

The Growing Regions Program delivers community and economic benefits by investing in community-focused infrastructure which revitalises regions and enhances amenity and liveability throughout regional Australia.

The Northern Beaches Community Hub Stages 1A and 1B are funded jointly by the Australian Government and Mackay Regional Council.
