Council has developed a Draft Pest Management Plan in accordance with the Land Protection (Pest and Stock Route Management) Act 2002.

The Draft Plan consolidates the existing Plans prepared by the former amalgamated councils of Mackay City, Mirani and Sarina and aims to carefully plan and prioritise resources to ensure that time and money is spent on managing declared plants and pests in our region.

The plan also guides landholders and managers in the area on how to control pests for the benefit of the entire community.
