Mackay Regional Council is seeking community feedback on a proposal for the temporary use of approximately 156m² of road reserve land at Seaview Park, Bucasia.
Council is considering a temporary Permit to Occupy for Mackay Sailing Club to support sailing activities and associated equipment storage. The proposal includes temporary fencing to delineate the permit area and replacement of the existing post at beach access BUC06 with a lockable removable post to facilitate vessel access.
The proposed Permit to Occupy would be for an initial 12-month period, with any future extension subject to council review and approval.
No permanent buildings or infrastructure are proposed and no decision has been made by council on the proposal.
Community feedback received during the consultation period will be considered as part of council's future consideration of the proposal.
Feedback closes at 11.59pm on Sunday, August 2, 2026.
