Council to coordinate ‘Party in the Park’ event to help connect parents

In response the data gathered from the Stay-a-Home Parents survey council is coordinating the Party in the Park event.

This event encourages connection for parents who maybe experiencing isolation, particularly those that are stay-at-home caregivers. The Party in the Park event aims to link parents in with low/no cost social opportunities not only for their children but also for themselves.

Party in the Park will be a fun, colourful morning showcasing the amazing services available to children and parents in the Mackay region.

We encourage interactive stalls, demonstrations and information sharing. There will be some tasty food stalls, a coffee van, spaces for rugs and rotating children’s entertainment.

Council are seeking applications for interested children’s services, playgroups, childcare providers and support groups to attend this free event, with a focus on connection.

Services and stallholders can register their interest at www.mackay.qld.gov.au/community/events/party_in_the_park

Join in the fun Tuesday, May 19, 2020 9am- 11.30 am at the Jubilee Civic Precinct Park (near the fountain) 73 Gordon Street, Mackay.
