Council is excited to announce renewal works for Tanglewood Park to replace the aged play equipment.
Tanglewood Park’s current equipment has reached the end of its lifespan despite previous repairs being completed, including repainting. Parts are no longer being manufactured, making future repairs impossible.
The renewal works will involve theinstallation of new play equipment which will increase the size of the available play space, cater to a wider age range and introduce some inclusive play elements. New trafficable rubbersoftfall tiling will also be installedin the play spaces.
Improved landscaping, additionalseatingand connectingconcretepathshave also been included in the design.
Care has been taken to keep as many of the existing trees as possible. However,an arbourinspection has found that 2 trees(a Banksia & a Melaleuca) within the site are structurally unsound and posea public safety risk. They will be removed. All other trees will be protected and monitored during construction works.
Workwill take place from mid-May to mid-August, 2025, weather permitting. Work will occur between 6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and Saturdays (as required).
The playground will be closed for use while work is underway. Some noise and dust disturbancesare expected with various plant and equipment on site.
The shared path that connects Dapplewood Closeto Oak Street will remain open. However, a small detour off the concrete path may be required during some of the works.
