The Gordon White Library building in Mount Pleasant is set to be transformed into a community-council facility after the new library opens at the Northern Beaches Community Hub in early 2027.
With more than 5000 library members living in the Northern Beaches, council is planning to take the opportunity to consolidate library services north of the city at the new Hub.
Council will consider if the current Gordon White Library can be repurposed as a broader community-council facility, similar to the Jubilee Community Centre, with meeting rooms and staff offices.
It will also consider if limited services could remain at Gordon White, for example, a reserved book collection point.
