Help us understand housing in the Mackay region

Council has prepared the draft Mackay Region Housing Strategy which aims to improve housing diversity in the region and supports increased supply of public and social housing. Analysis of the region's demographics and its homes found that we have many different household types yet very little diversity of housing types. Ultimately, this means there is a lack of housing choice to meet the needs of many households.

Council is looking to better understand housing needs directly from the region's households through this short survey. 

Personal details are not used in the results of surveys, however, some survey questions may capture identifying information. Responses in the below survey are purely voluntary. Participating in this survey indicates that you accept that this information may be publicly displayed and analysed by both authorised council employees and relevant third-party consultants.
