Contractor Vassallo Construction Pty Ltd will be undertaking the next stage of works at Oak Street, Andergrove, on council’s behalf.

The Oak Street upgrade project has been undertaken in three stages. The first stage was completed during 2023 and involved stormwater relining. The second stage was completed in 2025 and involved underground drainage works.

Stage 3 includes pavement rehabilitation works, including kerb replacement, and works are expected to begin on Monday, June 8, weather permitting. These works are expected to be completed by early November 2026.

Works will be undertaken from 6.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 6.30am to 3pm Saturday where required.

Two-lane traffic will be maintained for the majority of the project, with reduced speed zones in place.

Commencing Monday, June 8, Vassallo will undertake works to remove the existing centre islands and install new pavement line marking to realign traffic lanes on the northern side of Oak Street. During these initial road reconfiguration works, temporary single-lane traffic management will be in place between 9.00am and 3.00pm, weather permitting.

Outside of the 9.00am to 3.00pm work period, traffic will return to two-way operation. Following completion of the road reconfiguration works, two-way traffic will be maintained for the majority of the remainder of the project.

The contractor will make every effort to minimise impacts to road users and avoid peak traffic periods where possible.

While works are under way, property access will be affected to some properties. These residents will be contacted 48 hours prior to any disruption. On-street parking within the work zone will be unavailable for the duration of the project.

Please be advised that sections of the footpath will be upgraded as part of the works. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Residents are requested to follow all site signage and directions.

There will be some noise and dust disturbances with various plant and equipment on-site.
