Stage 4 works commencing soon

Contractor Pentacon will be commencing stage 4 of the Pioneer River Levee wall works in early-October, weather permitting.

Stage 4 includes the excavation and construction of the new levee wall along Holland Street, new pavement and kerb and the relocation of a large Ergon pit.

To complete these works, the contractor will be removing the on-street car parks on the eastern side of Holland Street to allow for the continuation of dual traffic lanes in this area.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternative the car parking along Holland, Shakespeare and Tait streets.

Access to the Mackay Cemetery from Holland Street will be maintained during the stage 4 works.

The existing traffic conditions along Cemetery Road will remain in place until further notice.

The contractor is expected to commence the stage 4 works on Thursday, October 8 and be completed by mid-January, 2026, weather permitting.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by these works.
