Project update: April 14, 2026

Following requests from the community, construction on the new shared path has been paused to allow for a review of the design.

Residents raised concerns about the section of pathway in front of the Seaforth General Store, in relation to the path’s set-back from the road, the ability for larger vehicles to utilise the fuel pumps and pedestrian safety.

Following the review, the shared pathway design has been altered with the following changes to be included in the design:

  • Widen the footpath to the kerb in front of the Seaforth General Store for safe usage for pedestrians while larger vehicles travel through the service station.
  • Install “no parking” stencilling and tactile ground surface indicators on the concrete pathway in front of the Seaforth General Store.
  • Remove the bollards proposed in the original design to allow safe movement of larger vehicles through the service station.

The design is now being finalised. We appreciate the feedback provided by residents to ensure the new infrastructure suits the needs of the community.

Construction is now expected to be completed by late June.
